Soy drink comes from plants while traditional milk comes from animals, and the nutrients are not the same. If you would like to learn the difference between these two drinks, it's important to first understand the difference in nutritional value between the two.

As we know, cow’s milk is a good source of calcium. In addition, lactose in milk can promote the absorption of calcium and iron, and sufficient calcium intake can help children develop strong bones and teeth during the growth stage. Also contained in Cow’s milk is lactose which can only be decomposed under the action of lactase enzyme, which some people don’t produce properly causing discomfort. (National Library of Medicine, 2018)

High cholesterol and heart disease can be caused by the high saturated fats found in cow's milk, in comparison to the negligible amounts of lower saturated fats soy drink contains. The only dairy alternative to offer a similar level of protein as milk from cows is a soy beverage. Soy beverages contain healthy fats mononucleosis and polyunsaturated fats at high levels. Compared to cow milk, soy drink has a similar nutrient content, but soy drink contains isoflavones and is naturally cholesterol free and vegan. Research suggests that isoflavones are antioxidants and can reduce inflammation in the body and may also have anticancer effects. The National Center for Complementary and Interdisciplinary Health states that the consumption of soy protein each day can lower Trusted Source Low Cholesterol. (Jessica Caporuscio, 2019)

In addition, soy drink is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, soybean saponins, lecithin, and other dozens of substances that are beneficial to the human body, which can reduce human cholesterol and prevent and treat hypertension, coronary heart disease, and other diseases. (National Library of Medicine, n.d.) Plant-based health ingredients, such as soy isoflavone, saponins, soybean polysaccharides, and other polyphenols, that are present in soy drinks may help prevent several chronic diseases. It also has vitamin B forms that are essential for maintaining nerve cells and DNA in your body. Soy drink is a great source of potassium, so they can help to promote your heart health. To maintain lowered blood pressure and a normal heart rate, potassium is very important. It's also rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, which are healthy fats that your body can't produce on its own. Omega-3 fatty acids are linked to a reduced risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. (Sachdev, 2022)
